Automobiles in Germany's City Found Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Police Confirm

Police stated they were contacted by a resident who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish substance

Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.

Law enforcement then located many other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no indication as to its source; authorities are not yet cognizant of any injuries in association with the incident," they commented.

Local authorities said they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the public for information.

An important representative stated the attack rendered him stunned and had to be resolved rapidly.

"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine people by a assailant aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
